I was in the mood for some cheery colors and I just recently received some fab papers in the post (mail). I love the floral papers in Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe. I picked out the pink and stamped some polka dotty paper to match using Gingham & Co from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I used this week's sketch 117 from Card Patterns as my starting point.
The cute bird stamp is from 7gypsies, it's called Victoria, it's a really nice set with music sheet birds, separate crowns and branches.
The text is from Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse Stamps, I cut it out, just following the edge, giving a small rim. I used some letter brads to spell out the word 'hugs'. I used one of the fab large doilies from Dainty Dolies - Large set to stamp over my paper doily... is that too many doilies!! : ) The fab yellow polka dot ribbon is from The Ribbon Reel. Don't forget to play along with the sketch challenge this week, there's a fab prize of ribbons, baker's twine, lace and flowers, check it out at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog.
The scalloped edge is stamped using Crafty Secrets - Arty Banner on some Emma's Shoppe Paper, then cut out. The bottom section is embossed using Swiss Dots embossing folder. I like how this one turned out... chirpy! : ) I'll be back tomorrow with a flower tutorial for that fabric flower I made the other day using wired ribbon!
Card/Paper: Emma's Shoppe Crate Paper, white card, lemon card
Stamps: Gingham & Co, Dainty Doilies - Large and Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse Stamps, Crafty Secrets - Arty Banner and 7gypsies Victoria
Ink: Impress Lemon Yellow, Memento Rose Bud, Black Archival Ink
Other: Buttons, doilies, sewing machine, brads, swiss dots ribbon from the ribbon reel, swiss dots embossing folder, die-cutting machine, hot pink grosgrain.

It's time for another new challenge at The Ribbon Reel, this time it's a sketch challenge. (Sketch by me, go easy on me it's my first one, I'm sure they'll get better!!) I decided to turn it on it's side... after the first card didn't work out. Anyway, here's the sketch!
The flower I made using some gorgeous Silky Crush wired ribbon in Champagne, I hadn't made these before. All you do to gather the ribbon is pull one of the wires in the wired edges. It gathers very easily, then I just rolled it around the centre, I added a few stitches by hand at the base as I went along. The centre is a vintage clip on earring. (I'll try and put a tutorial together if I find a minute!)
It is a large flower, it would make a nice topper for a gift too. The leaves (from Roses in Bloom by Waltzingmosue Stamps) I stamped onto some cream card with VersaMark ink and embossed in gold.
The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases by Waltzingmouse Stamps, again embossed in gold. The brown paper I embossed using the In Stitches embossing folder by Craft Concepts.
The script background paper is from 7Gypsies Conservatory Collection. The gorgeous Guipure Lace was white but I dyed it cream by spritzing it with pearl Glimmer mist (just to wet it really) and rubbed it over a Distress Ink pad - Antique Linen. Turned out fab! You can just about see it under the layers but there is some Champagne Twill in there too, across the centre. I also added a nice bow of Ivory twisted Burlap Cord (love that stuff!)
Don't forget to pop over to The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team have dreamed up to inspire you. Oh and don't forget to play along of course, there's another bundle of goodies up for grabs! Have a great week!
Card/Paper: Cream card, 7Gypsies Conservatory Collection, Brown paper from BoBunny Gabrielle

I don't know where May disappeared to, the weather still isn't great here, they're promising us a hot summer but we're still waiting! We're planning on making a little pond in the garden, nothing too big, Isabelle is hoping for some fish! It's still at the planning stage. Anyway, here's my card for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge (WMSC49), another fab sketch from Edna.
I went with a soft vintage look (Niall calls these granny cards!!) I had some fab vintage lace I received in a swap a while ago, I layered this over some soft green card and I loved the subtle effect.
The large rose I made using the Sizzix Tattered Florals Die and some watercolor paper. I had the stamens in my stash. I was inspired to take the time to make some handmade flowers again after visiting this lady's blog - Claire's Paper Craft (another Claire!), WOW is she talented!!! Here's the white rose that inspired me. The two small flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaves I stamped using the Roses in Bloom stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.
The label is cut out using the Spellbinders Grommet Tags die. I stamped the little rose bud from the Roses in Bloom stamp set in a light green. The sentiment is from Dainty Doilies - Large Set by Waltzingmouse Stamps.
There's a lot going on with the background, I used a gesso resist technique with the Dainty Doilies - Large Set, there's a tutorial at The Craft Barn blog. I rubbed Distress Ink in Antique Linen over it, then rubbed it with a paper towel to reveal the doily stamp. Over that I stamped some text from Text-It by Waltzingmouse Stamps in Archival Ink Coffee. I did also stamp some roses over that again in light green!
I added a few beige feathers behind the rose, some scrunchy seam binding and some trinket pins. I like how this one turned out and I'm surprised how well it stood up considering the size of the flower. I think this one might have to be hand delivered or I'll have to make a little box for it! Don't forget to check out the wonderful creations from the rest of the Mischief Makers and some of the WMS design team at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Enjoy the rest of the weekend! : )
Card/Paper: White card, light green card, watercolor paper
Stamps: Roses in Bloom, Text-It, Dainty Doilies - Large Set by Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: Archival Ink Coffee, VersaMagic Sage, Distress Ink Antique Linen
Other: Seam binding, trinket pins, feathers, button, lace, twine, stamens. flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Die-cutting machine, Spellbinders Grommet Tags die, Sizzix Tattered Florals Die, sewing machine.
This is my last week at Just Us Girls Challenge as Guest Designer, I've had so much fun!! Thanks ladies for having me! So, the last project is a 3D project or template for Father's Day. I'm not a big fan of masculine cards or projects so I try to keep things simple. I found the greatest little template for this shirt style gift box at Papercrave (and it's free to download).
There's a cute little bow-tie option too. I added the tag for a little added interest, the sentiment is from JustRite. I used a white gel pen for the stitching on the collar. I used foam pads to make the tie stand out a little more. This took me hardly any time at all to make. It's not a huge gift box, you'd get a small gift in there like a watch, cufflinks or something of a similar size. It is a great masculine template to have on your computer though. Don't forget to check out the amazing creations from the Just Us Girls design team. Thanks again ladies I had a blast! I'll be back later with my card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. See you then! : )

I made this card yesterday morning, I didn't get a chance to post it until now because we had a 'window' in the weather. It was sunny and dry all day, we haven't had a nice settled day for a few weeks and it's back to gales and rain today! We got a good bit done in the garden and Isabelle got a chance to play outside. Back to the card, the colors and sketch are from The Color Room #59.
Here's the pretty sketch. I flipped the sketch for my card.
The papers I used are from Butterfly Garden by Pink Paislee and Laura Ashley. I recycled some cardboard for the label. The decorative panel on the label embossed in white is from Very Vintage Labels No.18 by Waltzingmouse Stamps, (I masked the lines in the centre of the stamp.)
The sentiment is from Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse Stamps and the text on the tag is from the same set. I distressed the edges of the label with some white paint.
The little fimo bird I made using a silicone mold from Etsy. There's lots of different molds available.
The pretty flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lace is from the same store but I dyed it with some lemon ink. The pearl trinket pin I made.
We all really enjoyed the visit of President Obama on Monday to Ireland, they looked like they enjoyed themselves and they really gave the people of Ireland a lift. The Queen's visit last week was wonderful too. She was also given a very warm welcome. Hopefully all the positivity will help turn things around for the country!
Card/Paper: White card, cardboard, Butterfly Garden by Pink Paislee, Laura Ashley, doily
Stamps: Very Vintage Labels No.18, Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: VersaMark, Archival Ink Coffee
Other: Spellbinders Labels 18, Fimo clay, silicone mold, white embossing powder, heat gun, die-cutting machine, sewing machine, lace, cream silky crush ribbon, buttons, trinket pins, twine, peach seam binding, sticky fixers, flowers, white paint.

We're celebrating Waltzingmouse Stamps turning 2!!! Yay!! It's amazing how fast the company is growing!! Congrats Claire, you're such an inspiration! So we've all made birthday cards to celebrate! This week's sketch at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge is designed by fellow Mischief Maker Edna. Here's the sketch! (WMSC48) Reminds me of Connect 4! : )
I have to admit this one had me struggling a bit, I did stick quite literally to the sketch in the end. I'm fairly happy with the results. It took long enough to make!!
The background I stamped using Gingham & Co by Waltzingmouse Stamps, I love this set, this is one of those must haves! All the little flowers are stamped using the polka dot stamp from the same set.
The sentiment on the wee tag is from Half Pint Heroes by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The tag I die cut using the Sizzix Scallop tag dies.
All the flowers have closed coil quilled centers in various colors. The flowers I cut out using the smallest flower from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Florals die.
You'll have to check out the amazing creations from the rest of the Mischief Makers and some of the WMS design team at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I'm teaching a card-making workshop today at The Crafty Alley Shop... should be fun!! : ) Wish me luck!!

I'm loving my guest design spot with Just Us Girls Challenge, it's definitely encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone. This week's challenge is a color challenge, RAINBOW (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, plus neutrals!) that's a whole lot of color!! Luckily I had some rainbow ribbon!
For the label I used Spellbinders Labels 14 die to cut out some green felt. I used Holiday Labels No.14 by Waltzingmouse Stamps for the smaller label. I masked the edges of the label when I stamped the little sun motifs from Half Pint Heros by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The polka dot background is stamped with Gingham & Co.
The sunshine text is also from Half Pint Heros. The fab birthday sentiment that I cut out is from Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The top half of the background is stamped with Text-It.
I've had those big yellow buttons in my stash for a while, they seemed to fit with this bold card!! : ) Don't forget to check out the fabulous creations from the Just Us Girls design team, they're sure to inspire you. Well thank goodness the broadband "issue" was finally fixed today... after 15 days!! It's such a relief to have it back! I loved the color combo #192 at Color Combos Galore this week, I love a little bit of teal. Here's the inspiration board.
I also incorporated this week's challenge #57 at the City Crafter Challenge Blog, the challenge is to include 'Stripes and Polka Dots', love it!
The stamped polka dot frame is from Very Vintage Labels No.18 by Waltzingmouse Stamps and the sentiment is from Say it Loud and Sweethearts by Waltzingmouse Stamps. I lightened the sweetie text by rubbing a white ink pad lightly over the black and on the edges of the label.
I added a sweet lavender flower, a lace and hand dyed seam binding bow. The trinket pins I made with a fab porcelain bead and some pearls.
I'm definitely happy to have the broadband back, it's funny how disconnected you feel without it! Anyway, I've a bit of work to do tonight, better dash! I hope this annoying cold disappears by the weekend. I'm at the sore throat stage at the moment... : (

Still no broadband! (I'm at my mom's) I'm just sharing a project I have in the current issue (Issue 92) of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine (UK). I had to design a paper lantern with a summery theme. I didn't get a chance to photograph these before I sent them off, so these are shots from the magazine.
I made them using papers from the Prima Melody Collection. Two sides of each lantern have a pattered paper and the other two sides have a solid color with a cut out butterfly backed with vellum. They each have pretty trailing ribbon on them and some matching beads. There are photographed steps on how to make the lanterns in the magazine. So check out the current issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine, issue 92. Enjoy the rest of the week!

We're still without broadband.. day 12... I think. This is another scheduled post from another location!! Let's just say I hope if you're with 3 you never have any problems with your service! I guess we'll just have to wait! I'm getting pretty sick of that! Anyway, it's time for a new challenge at The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog. The theme is 'Shabby Strawberries and Cream' - create a card or project using the colors from the inspiration photo, use flowers and ribbon/baker's twine.
I used Spellbinders grommet tags for the label, the sentiment is from Dainty Doilies - Large Set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The little heart stamp is Marianne Design. Under the label I pleated and sewed some gorgeous pink silky crush ribbon from The Ribbon Reel. (That silky crush ribbon is fabulous!!) I also layered some white crochet lace over cream twill ribbon and I tied a little pink and white Baker's twine over that.
The gorgeous flower stamp is from Roses in Bloom by Waltzingmouse Stamps. (How did I live without this stamp set for so long???) I colored it with acrylic paints. The leaves are stamped onto some light green paper.
Now pop over to The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the design team AND don't forget to play along, there's another prize of ribbon up for grabs... and you can never have enough ribbon... right!! : ) Have a great week! Raining here...

** Third post for today!! Scroll down for my CARD PATTERNS card and scroll down further for my Just Us Girls Card (JUGS)**
Busy day!! Here's my card for this week's great new sketch at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge WMSC47. This week's sketch was designed by fellow Mischief Maker Edna. I also made this card with The Shabby Tea Room challenge #61 ' Ruffled Up' in mind.
Isn't it pretty! I received some fabby new stamps in the post (mail) including this gorgeous polka dot stamp from the Gingham & Co stamp set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. I stamped it on some tissue paper in Rose Bud Memento ink. I cut the ends with a scallop scissors. Then I gathered it on the sewing machine.
I embossed the bottom section using the Roses embossing folder, then I rubbed the top of it with Memento Angel Pink. I threaded the buttons with some pink and white Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel.
The sentiment is from Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse Stamps, the background paper is a digi paper from my stash.
Pop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for some inspiration from the Mischief Makers and some of the WMS Design Team. Oh, keep your fingers crossed for me that my broadband gets fixed soon! I must go prepare for a workshop that I'm giving at The Crafty Alley Shop next Saturday.
