The Ribbon Reel - Challenge#2

We're still without broadband.. day 12... I think. This is another scheduled post from another location!! Let's just say I hope if you're with 3 you never have any problems with your service! I guess we'll just have to wait! I'm getting pretty sick of that! Anyway, it's time for a new challenge at The Ribbon Reel Challenge  blog. The theme is 'Shabby Strawberries and Cream' - create a card or project using the colors from the inspiration photo, use flowers and ribbon/baker's twine.

I used Spellbinders grommet tags for the label, the sentiment is from Dainty Doilies - Large Set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The little heart stamp is Marianne Design. Under the label I pleated and sewed some gorgeous pink silky crush ribbon from The Ribbon Reel. (That silky crush ribbon is fabulous!!) I also layered some white crochet lace over cream twill ribbon and I tied a little pink and white Baker's twine over that.

The gorgeous flower stamp is from Roses in Bloom by Waltzingmouse Stamps. (How did I live without this stamp set for so long???) I colored it with acrylic paints. The leaves are stamped onto some light green paper.

Now pop over to The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the design team AND don't forget to play along, there's another prize of ribbon up for grabs... and you can never have enough ribbon... right!! : ) Have a great week! Raining here...

Supplies:

Paper/Card: Prima Melody papers, white card
Stamps: Roses in Bloom and Dainty Doilies - Large Set both Waltzingmouse Stamps, Marianne Design
Ink: Brown archival ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink antique linen, Memento Angel Pink
Other: Swiss dots embossing folder, die-cutting machine, Spellbinders grommet tags, sewing machine, cream twill ribbon, pink and white baker's twine, white crochet lace, pink silky crush ribbon all from The Ribbon Reel.

  1. Beautiful. You can never go wrong with pink! The little heart beneath the sentiment is so sweet ... sigh. This is just wonderful, Clare. On my way over to The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog! (Sorry to hear about your broadband issues - so frustrating!)

  2. Still without broadband?! Geez. Poor love. Luckily for us, your many crafting compadres, you are so clever in not letting NO broadband stop you. Go girl! Love your tenacity.

your card is so delightfully pretty. I love a great rose and this is a good'un. Painted to perfection. Your acrylic treatment looks very watercoloured to me. Amazing.
