We have another great sketch for you this week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge (WMSC#45), this week it's all about tassels or whatever you'd like to have dangling from your card. Here's the sketch.
I experimented with a few different tassels, pearl, bead combos but in the end I just went with some plaited seam binding!
The papers are from Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden, I stamped some text from Text-It by Waltzingmouse Stamps in Tea Leaves VersaMagic. I also used one of the gorgeous labels from Very Vintage Labels No.18.
I layered a die cut from Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two over the label. The little tag is stamped with a sentiment from Fancy Phrases. The pretty flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I added a little lace to the edge for my scalloped border. Oh and I threaded the scrunchy seam binding through the fancy tag.
Just a note, it is a requirement now to use at least one Waltzingmouse image on your submission when you play along. Oh and if you didn't know already, one lucky participant is randomly chosen each week to win a Waltzingmouse Stamp set of choice!! Now pop on over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog for some inspiration! Have a great weekend! : )

*** My card is the Super 6 WINNER at Card Patterns!! Delighted!! ***
I meant to post this earlier but I got caught up in watching the royal wedding!! It was so beautiful! They looked so happy! Anyway, here's a card I made using this week's Card Patterns sketch 112. I loved this sketch!!
I did something a little different with this card, the central panel slots out and becomes a (large!) bookmark. The image is a little sketch I did, I scanned the line drawing, printed it and colored with acrylic paints.
I made two semi-circular tabs, the panel slots into these. I added the label with the sentiment just on the tabs, making sure the panel could still be easily taken out. This was all experimental!!
The label I made using Bitty Banners from Waltzingmouse Stamps, stamped in a light pink. The sentiment is from Half Pint Heros also by Waltzingmouse Stamps.
Here's my 'large' bookmark! I added some silky crush ribbon from The Ribbon Reel to the top to act as the marker, the bookmark is backed with pink dotty paper. I added a little double bow made from white seam binding.
Inside the card I just added the simple Friend of Mine sentiment from The Crafts Meow. You can see the tail of the bookmark on the left.
Ok, that's it, I'll be back in the morning with my Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge card! See you then!!
Card/Paper: White card, Webster's Pages, pink dotty paper
Stamps: Bitty Banners, Half Pint Heroes from Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: Memento Ink Angel Pink, black archival ink
Other: Swiss dots embossing folder, die-cutting machine, pink silky crush ribbon, white seam binding, sewing machine, buttons, acrylic paints, white lace.

We're having such amazing weather here at the moment, I know I keep saying that but I really can't believe it! I took Isabelle to the beach yesterday! The BEACH in APRIL in IRELAND!! 18°C today, just nice to be in the garden... we still have loads of seeds to sow! So a quick post... I made this card using the color palette #55 from The Color Room as inspiration. Scary colors for me but I thought I'd step outside my comfort zone!
I also used the sketch for the Color Room Card. Lots of detail in this one!!
The flowers I made using Spellbinders Rose Creations and Foliage dies. Can't wait to play with these dies some more. It's the first time I tried using stamens on my flowers too. The papers are Prima Melody and Crate Paper The Portrait Collection.
The sentiment is from JustRite on a Spellbinders double ended tag. The paper I used for the tag is from BoBunny Gabrielle Collection.
Ok we're off out to the garden... I hope it's sunny where you are!! Here's a pic from the beach yesterday! Yea, we need to work on our sandcastle making skills! There were hardly any shells on that beach for some reason, we'll have to go to a different one next time, Isabelle loves collecting shells! We had fun though!

**** My card WON CUP OF THE WEEK at The Play Date Cafe!! Delighted!! : ) ***
We had a great Easter, it was nice to spend some quality time with family! We had a wonderful picnic in a nearby forest park on Saturday... there's a few pics at the end of this post! Ok, I managed to squeeze in some late night crafting last night and here's the result! The colors (which I just couldn't resist! they're Cath Kidston inspired) are from this week's color challenge (PDCC78) at The Play Date Cafe.
The sketch I used is from Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #8. I substituted the butterfly with a cupcake!
For the sentiment I used Half Pint Heroes by Waltzingmouse Stamps. I made the label using one of the stamps from Bitty Banners, I just inked up the ends and stamped either end to make up the label. I'm so glad I use clear stamps I'd have no chance of lining up the ends otherwise!!
The stars I stamped on the cupcake are also from Bitty Banners by Waltzingmouse Stamps, I embossed them in white.
For the cupcake I just drew a simple cupcake shape and paper-pieced the sections, I added a little stitching for interest. Here's a few photos from our picnic!
There's a fabulous lake at Curraghchase, it was such a fabulous day, not too hot, just perfect for a picnic!
Isabelle had a great time feeding the swans and ducks with daddy! (Shh, don't tell him I posted a pic of him!)
There were beautiful old trees, I love the dappled light through the leaves.
Oh and there were lots of pretty bluebells... white ones too, which I'd never seen before!
Isabelle saw lots of butterflies, this is the only one that would stay still long enough for me to take a photo!!
Isabelle insisted on folding the picnic blanket up neatly!!
She did a good job!!
Of course no visit to the park would be complete without a swing on the tyre swing!! Oh and an ice cream on the way home!! : ) I hope you had a lovely Easter too!

Finally a card! I love this week's sketch (WMSC44) at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, it's a great layout with the chance to do a little embossing, heat or dry. I opted for dry embossing with an embossing folder on some Prima botanical paper and then lightly sanded. I love that technique. Here's the sketch.
The colors are inspired by this week's color challenge at Color Combos Galore, inspiration board #189. I love the colors but my Robin's Egg turned out a little more green than blue. Oh well. You also had to add a little shimmer.
I used Text-It by Waltzingmouse Stamps to stamp the background at the top. The label is from Holiday Labels No.14 stamped in peach and the edges rubbed in a light pink. The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases also Waltzingmouse Stamps.
I did add a bit of shimmer to the embossing by rubbing a pearl powder over the top, I'm not sure if you can see it in the photo, it's a bit hard to capture! The embossing folder is called Cottage Floral and it's by Craft Concepts.
Don't forget to check out the amazing creations from the rest of the Mischief Makers and some of the WMS DT at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.
I hope you have a wonderful easter. We're off for a picnic in a nearby forest park this afternoon, there's a lovely lake with some swans and ducks waiting to be fed some bread! Have a lovely day!

I just realized I haven't posted anything in nearly a week!! I will have a card to show you tomorrow with the new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, it's another great sketch! With Isabelle off school for the easter holidays I haven't had my usual crafting time, I've been busy trying to entertain her. Luckily the weather has been fabulous, really warm and sunny which is unusual for Ireland in April! We have the most wonderful garden centre in our village and they have a brilliant set up of animals for children to visit... free! I always end up buying a few plants though! : )
So, I thought I'd share a few photos from our visit to the garden centre. Isabelle loves it there! She thinks the pigs really are the three little pigs! She was talking to them too, they seemed very interested!
They really are funny and I had no idea how friendly pigs were. The farmers wife was feeding them while we were there and invited us to go into the pen with her. Isabelle was a little nervous but maybe next time. The farmer's wife assured us when the pigs are being fed ALL they see is the FOOD!!
My favorite is definitely the donkeys, they're so gentle and love having their heads stroked. Their fur is SO soft! Hasn't he the sweetest face!
And another sweet face! No doubt we'll be back to visit all the animals again soon, if Isabelle had her way I think we'd be there every day!! Yesterday 'nana' treated Isabelle to a little pink swing for her to play with at nana's house. We already have one in our garden. As you can see, she was very happy about it! : )
We're off out to the garden now, have to prepare the easter egg hunt later.... hopefully there'll be some crafting time when she goes to bed! Unless I fall asleep first! See you in the morning.. with a card!!

It's been a busy week! I'm glad it's the weekend. The weather looks good for the next few days, nice n' sunny and warm too! We'll be in the garden, lots to do!! So, here's my card for this week's sketch (WMSC43) at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch, I like this one!
I used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown #137, I love this color combo, really cheerful!
I used Very Vintage Labels No.18 by Waltzingmouse Stamps for the label, embossed in white. The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases. I recycled an old cardboard box to make the label!
For the gingham flowers I stamped the large gingham pennant from Vintage Banners by Waltzingmouse Stamps in yellow a few times and die cut some flowers using the Tattered Florals die. I love the pattern, I added some velvet brads to the centers.
I added a little more gingham under the flower in the form of a bow. The little teal crochet flower is from Annie Design at Etsy. I added the button to the centre.
The leaves I made using the dotty heart from the Sweethearts set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. Here's how I made them, they're very quick n' easy!
Stamp your heart in chosen color, cut along the centre about three quarters of the way.
Overlap the sides, you can completely overlap them for a narrower leaf or just slightly overlap for a wider leaf shape.
Glue down and pinch slightly along the centre. There you have a simple leaf shape from a heart!
The background is embossed using the swiss dots embossing folder and rubbed with a yellow ink pad. Ok, don't forget to visit the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge to see the amazing creations from the ladies! Have a great weekend!! : )
