It's been a bit of a crazy week with some clashing deadlines and a sick bunny to take care of! Bunny's on the mend now after a trip to the vet and he's nearly back to his usual cheeky self!
I've a card to share that I made using a selection of Core'dinations cardstock and my trusty Silhouette Portrait! I went with a red, pink and white color combo, I love how well pink and red work together!
The 'With Love' (#46238) I cut from some Fuchsia Fizz Core'dinations cardstock and I added a layer of Glossy Accents. The Scalloped Hearts (#38258) are cut from some Core Couture Glitter cardstock and some white cardstock from the Neutrals Collection from Core'dinations. I stamped the heart using some juicy Memento Luxe Love Letter ink, I love how the grain of cardstock showed through! I layered all of this onto some gorgeous red Glitter Silk Core'dinations cardstock.
The strip of hearts (#24381) at the bottom are cut from some more Fuchsia Fizz Core'dinations cardstock and lightly sanded with my Sand-It Gadget. I added a touch of Pink Sorbet baker's twine from SRM Stickers and a couple of large sequins. That's all for now, I hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Hi! It's week three at CASE Study with the talented Donna Mikasa as our muse. Take a look at Donna's cool inspiration card for this week!
I CASEd the horizontal angle, the color combo and use of sequins. I love a dark card base, it creates such a dramatic card!
The heart, sweetheart and xoxo are from Love Notes from Crate Paper. I used some Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions by Tim Holtz from Core'dinations and sanded with my Sand-It Gadget. The 'Love & Kisses' sticker is from Sticker Sentiments Love from SRM Stickers. Don't forget to visit the rest of the CASE Study team for more great inspiration! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

I've been working on a quilling commission this week, so while I had all of my quilling stuff out I made this Quilled Butterfly Bookmark. I've seen this style of bookmark online (just a printed butterfly), with a butterfly sitting at the top and I thought a quilled version would look beautiful, so I gave it a go!
This was my first time quilling a butterfly and I based it on the Orange Tip butterfly, one of my favorite Irish butterflies. It's not as perfect as I'd have liked it to be but I'm pretty happy with it!
On either side of the bookmark I stamped some foliage using Leafy Accents from Clearly Besotted Stamps and Pear Tart Memento Luxe ink. I also added some sticker sentiments from SRM Stickers (Express Yourself/Everyday). The white cardstock is from Core'dinations.
I love how the butterfly just sits on top and looks like it has just landed there. I love this style of bookmark, so I think I'll have to experiment with some other ideas using the same concept.
Oh and in case you're wondering, yes, it did take a while to quill! To make the butterfly more sturdy I sealed the back with a clear drying glue (just brushed on with a small paint brush). So it turned out quite robust. That's all for now, I'll be back tomorrow with my CASE Study card. I hope you're having a creative day! : )

Hi! It's week two at CASE Study with the talented Donna Mikasa as our muse. Take a look at Donna's fabulous inspiration card for this week!
I CASEd the cool hues of the color palette, the watercolor look, splatter detail, use of sequins and white sentiment.
The background I created using watercolor paints, just some loose blue florals. I also added a bit of a wash and some splatters. The heart shape with sentiment I cut out using my Silhouette Portrait! I'm really loving that machine! I used some Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock for this, I love the added texture. I used silicone glue to attach it to the card to add some dimension.

Hello! I hope you're enjoying the new year so far! We have a brand new muse at CASE Study, it's the talented Donna Mikasa. Take a look at Donna's fabulous inspiration card for this week!
I CASEd the use of individual stamped letters in different colors and the color combo. I had the perfect stamp set for the job, Hero Arts Typewriter Letters and I used Memento Luxe Inks (Pear Tart, Dandelion, Angel Pink).
I had some time over the holidays to reflect on a lot of things but in particular how I'm spending my crafty time. I've been feeling that something was missing for a while now and I've realized how much I've missed painting and drawing. So, I've been doing quite a bit over the past few weeks, getting back into having a sketchbook and drawing and painting regularly. I have to say I'm really enjoying it.
So, you're probably going to see a few more of my illustrations featuring on my cards here and there, like this little birdie here! I sketched him lightly in pencil first, then colored him with watercolors and bumped up the colors with some Distress Markers once it was dry. These aren't the actual colors of this bird by the way, I painted him to fit my color scheme! : )
